Abstract: | The present study investigates the impact of Teleworking on Work Engagement in Greece. Given that Teleworking is a new field of study and a new reality in the times we are living in, it was an opportunity to study the existing literature and present it, as well as to create new data on how Teleworking really affects employees and Organizations. The research concentrates on the relationship between new ways of working -spatial and time flexibility-, Work Engagement, Transformational leadership, Trust in Management and in co-workers, Knowledge, Time Demands, Work Overload and Work-life balance. According to the research’s findings, Teleworking is an innovative means of work which through Transformational leadership enhances the possibilities of leading to increased Work Engagement. Respectively, Transformational Leaders improve peoples’ sense of trust, which will also lead to increased levels of Work Engagement. Last but not least, contemporary ways of working may also have a negative impact on people’s lives -work overload and work life balance- which is the other important reason for this research. |
