Abstract: In this study, the convergence process in EU27 is examined. Five time periods from 1990 to 2020 and four different European regions have been chosen to be investigated with the aid of panel data techniques. Cavenailes’ and Dubois’ (2011) paper “An empirical analysis of income convergence in the European Union” conducted a similar study for a previous time period. Our findings are similar in the sense that there are different rates of convergence within the European Union, although our analysis is more extended chronologically and includes more countries.
