Abstract: Brexit is the shortcut of the words “British” and “Exit” . It referrers to the decision of the British Citizens in the Referendum of 23 June of 2016, to leave the Europian Union. The purpose of this thesis is to investigate the effect of the British decision to leave the EU had on the British banking system and to study how aspects of the financial such as have reacted. Index FTSE100 for Industrial and Energy sections are studied . The sterling exchange rate with the US dollar and the Euro will also be studied and finally how the sectors of the economy are affected by the UK stock market using the rolling regression method. The empirical results showed that the day of the Referendum was a difficult day for the London Stock Market but afterwards the citiation shows a stabilizing tense.
