Abstract: This thesis has been prepared for the Master’s in International Public Administration, School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts and the Department of International and European Studies of the University of Macedonia. The topic of this thesis is ‘The principles of subsidiarity and proportionality in the European lawmaking procedures and their importance for European Integration’ and aims to highlight the meaning and content of the principles of subsidiarity and proportionality and the extent to which they serve the values and purposes of the European Union in their application.
