Abstract

Στην παρούσα διδακτορική διατριβή προσπαθήσαμε να προτείνουμε μεθόδους επεξηγήσεως των ψαλτικών μουσικών φαινομένων. Οι μέθοδοι αυτοί δύνανται να συνεισφέρουν σε ζητήματα διδασκαλίας της ψαλτικής, στην κατάρτιση του διδασκάλου και στην αντίληψη του μαθητευομένου. Σε ζητήματα θεωρητικής τεκμηριώσεως της οκταηχικής δομής των μελών και παρουσιάσεως συχγρόνων μορφών μουσικής αναλύσεως των δομών τους. Στην προσέγγιση της εκτελέσεώς τους βάσει των χορωδιακών ρόλων και της τεκμηριωμένης οκταηχικώς χρήσεως του ισοκρατήματος. Η δημιουργία των παραπάνω μεθόδων θελήσαμε να έχει ως πυλώνες στηρίξεως, πρώτον, την παλαιά θεωρητική ψαλτική σκέψη και, δεύτερον, τις σύγχρονες ανάγκες διδακτικής και μουσικής αναλύσεως. Ο συνδιασμός των παραπάνω έχει ως τελικό σκοπό της εργασίας την παρουσίαση τεκμηριωμένης προτάσεως για την ερμηνεία και εκτέλεση μελών, ούτως ώστε να δικαιολογείται πλήρως ο τίτλος της ψαλτικής ως τέχνης, αλλά και ως επιστήμης.

This present doctoral thesis was an endeavor to propose certain methods for explaining and demonstrating psaltic musical phenomena. These particular methods can provide insights into aspects of teaching the psaltic art. These aspects include general concerns, such as training of music instructors and the question of student comprehension, as well as more technically specific topics such as the theoretic substantiation of the eight-mode structure of the hymns, implementation of contemporary musical analysis to present these structures, and an approach to performance based on choral roles and the octaechically documented use of the isocratema. It was our intention that the creation of the abovementioned methods be conceptually supported by the twin pillars of ancient music-theoretic psaltic thought and the contemporary needs of musical instruction and analysis. The ultimate goal of the synthesis presented in this thesis is a well-substantiated proposal for interpretation and performance that fully justifies the designation of psaltic practice as both an art and a science.
