Piccolo Concerto Assemblages

Abstract

Assemblages, as the title indicates, is the gathering of ideas assembled from three diverse scenes. The first, A Ravel, is inspired by the orchestral colors of the great French composer. The second scene suggests a simple villager surrounded by his sheep in the meadows as he plays his pipe. The third strikes a military tune in a rather gentle and peaceful manner. The entire work is tied together through combined sounds of the piccolo and the two flutes with occasional additional coloring from the harmonics of the strings.
