Title: Grecianas Brasileiras: for flauto d’amore and strings
Authors: Constantinides, Dinos
Keywords: LRC208
Issue Date: 2001
Abstract: Grecianas Brasileiras is based on Greek-like folk tunes and Brazilian rhythms. It is diatonic in nature and its various events are built upon the harmonic sonorities derived from the tones of the C major scale in the order of the following tones: CGFEFGC and CABDBAC, thus underlying the importance of palindromic motion in the piece. This work is written for and dedicated to the Brazilian virtuoso flutist Celso Woltzenlogel for the use of the flauto d’amore. The piece can be performed by flute, alto flute, or flauto d’amore and string orchestra or string quintet.
