Abstract: Mountains of Epirus for two violins is modal and employs characteristics of Greek rhythm, syncopated figurations and polychordal sonorities. Epirus is the province of Greece where the composer was born. The same music has been used many times for different instrumentation. The present version has been worked by Costa Gomes. It is dedicated to Vasco Barbosa.
