dc.description.abstract	The present work, “Millennium Festival Overture,” is a short orchestral work dedicated to Louisiana State University for the New Millennium. Throughout the work, intervalic relationships control the various happenings. Sonorities based on seconds and thirds highlight the harmonic progression which influences the direction of the music. This work is a happy, fun piece, which projects hope for the New Millennium. It was written under an LSU grant.	en
