dc.description.abstractRights of Freedom, based on the text of the Bill of Rights, was commissioned by the Baton Rouge Commission on the Bicentennial of the United States Constitution to celebrate 200 years of the Bill of Rights. It was dedicated to Cecilia Franklin, then president and founder of the Louisiana Sinfonietta. It was premiered by the Louisiana Sinfonietta and chorus under the direction of the composer on December 16, 1991 at the Centroplex Theatre.en
