Reflections II for voice and flute

Abstract

Reflections II is a setting of Elizabeth Barrett Browning’s immortal poem “How do I love thee.” The composer tried to convey the dramatic and passionate ideas of the poem through word painting. Both parts, flute and voice, employ very expressive lines. This work received First Prize, the Glen Award, at L’Ensemble Competition.——Reflections is a series of works written for chamber groups and voice. The music evokes images based on either the composer’s past experiences or the poetry.
