dc.description.abstractMarcha de Galvez was commissioned by the LSU Bicentennial Program Office and was dedicated to the LSU A Cappella Choir. The piece was premiered at a concert in observance of the Fiftieth Anniversary of the Baton Rouge campus of LSU, the Anniversary of the Statehood of Louisiana, the Signing of the Louisiana Purchase, the Inauguration of George Washington, and the Bicentennial Celebratio of the United States of America. The piece recites the deeds of Governor Galvez, who won a battle fought on the outskirts of Baton Rouge, Louisiana.en
