Authors: Constantinides, Dinos
Keywords: LRC4
Issue Date: 1967
Abstract: Improvisation is a blues-influenced work scored for euphonium, trombone, or cello and piano. It makes use of blues scales and syncopated rhythms. The tempo is slow and the melodic material in the solo instrument is very rhapsodic in character. The piece builds to a climax of dynamics and intensity before quietly dying away.
