dc.description.abstractThe measurement or monitoring of the SC performance reveals the gap between planning and execution, helping companies to identify potential problems and areas for improvement. Undoubtedly, the creation of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) is a challenging and laborious process. In this paper, the contribution of KPIs is highlighted, through theoretical models and case studies. The data collection is based on literature review, in the context of SC performance measurement. It is found that companies should concentrate on a small number of KPIs, which are critical for the SCM, customer service/satisfaction and business viability. Potential KPIs should be created, in accordance with the methods: Balanced Scorecard, Benchmarking, SCOR model and Six Sigma (6s). In conclusion, a practical approach is proposed, for measuring the SC efficiency, through the SCM Action Tableau model.en
