Abstract: Sappho Songs (1998 revised edition) uses the poems of Sappho for text and inspiration. The poetess, Sappho, was born on the island of Lesbos in the 7th century BC. She is considered by many as the greatest lyric poet of antiquity. Most of her poems survive only in fragments in the works of Latin and Greek scholars.
